About & Contact

Hi I’m Laura and I have been a vegan for a few months now and I am just beginning to get used to adapting recipes that are vegetarian to fit in with my new vegan diet. At first it was a challenge, but I’m getting the hang of it and have made some really great recipes that produce some delicious deserts. Unfortunately, I always forget what these recipes are, so I’ve decided to store them here for future reference, and also so I can share these creations with other vegans doing the same thing/learning to do the same thing. The motivation for the blog is also partially self-serving as I now have a place to point all of my friends who have never made a vegan cakes before when they want to make me a birthday cake or they just feel like being nice to me buy baking me things. Also, just so you know, I have a handy sidekick called Sam, and he might be answering some of your questions/posting recipes (if there’s a spelling mistake, it’s all on him)

So this is a place to come for the best vegan recipes. From chocolate brownies to banana cakes all recipes will be delicious and dairy/egg free!

  1. Cute blog! The pics of your goodies look nice too. I’m glad to find you as I’d like to do more in the way of vegan baking, it seems that there isn’t any real need for eggs and dairy in many things.

A cheeky request, any chance you’d be willing to include Imperial measurements as well as Metric on your recipes – I use these really old scales and weights? I can convert of course, but it’s so much easier if it’s there in front of you 😉

  2. Hey Laura and Sam! Thanks so much for stopping by and following my blog! I just wanted to say hi and tell you how great your blog is – your cat is so adorable!! My husband’s allergic so since we can’t have a cat, I’ll live vicariously! 😉
    Great to meet,

    • Hey Kristin,
I’ve read quite a few of your posts recently and I really like you style of writing (and some of your recipes are on my incredibly long list of things I want to try and make)
Marbles is indeed very cute, but incredibly grumpy right now because we’ve just changed her diet (no more cheese for her). I’ll try and get some more pictures up soon, mostly because I want to show off 😛
      Thanks 🙂

      • Thank you so much Laura!! I know what you mean about the long list – I have to be cooking constantly to keep it under control! And yes please do show off that cute little kitty – poor little marbles with no cheese! 😦

      • She doesn’t seem too upset, she’s just stuck in her ways because she’s so old (she’s 16) and change is scary, especially when it means no cheese.
I’ll hopefully be able to get a lot more cooking with new and exciting recipes done soon because I should be finishing my dissertation this month and theoretically I’ll be less busy…

  3. Hi Laura,
Thank you for following uberdish! I’m so happy to have discovered you and your blog. Just last year I went from being a vegetarian to a vegan (a gluten-free vegan!) and I love it!! I look forward to reading your future posts. 🙂

    • Hi
Thanks! I really like your blog, the type of food you have is a little different from the things I’d normally make. I keep getting into a bit of a rut with the sort of things I cook, so I’m trying to keep a look out for blogs that seem to have some different types of food. So I’m definitely going to try some of your recipes. Also have been looking for a blueberry milkshake recipe for a while. So thanks for your help, and I’ll keep an eye out for your future posts 🙂

    • Hi
Thanks that’s really nice of you to share it, I’ll be definitely trying out the second one with the coconut milk, but I have to confess that I hate avocados (although, if you do try it and it doesn’t taste too much like avocado, could you let me know and I’ll give it a go because it looked really good)
I want to try and start making different kinds of desserts because I seem to be using a very limited number of ingredients (and vegan replacements) so this is a great start.
      Thanks again,

  4. Hi there, I’ve been vegan for 11 years now and found your blog while looking for a lemon drizzle cake recipe. I’ve just made yours and it’s cooling. Can’t wait to try it. Very indulgent with all that sugar and I never use white flour, so went out and bought some just for this recipe. Oh well, a little treat now and then never hurts! 🙂

    • Actually, I’ve just put the cake in the bin, it didn’t turn out very well at all. Probably me, go ahead and delete both replies. It wasn’t too my liking, sorry!
